| OCE responsible for a spent scavenger condensate separator skid for a platform in the North Sea |
In May 2007 Promecon received an enquiry from an operator in the North Sea for a spent scavenger condensate separator skid. An order of this kind may sum up to approx 7 millions DKK and will engage 8 persons for an estimated 7-months period.
The operator required a new separator to enhance treatment and disposal of H2S scavenger reaction products from a gas treatment system. The condensate separator skid should handle the separation of condensate from water and spent H2S scavenger as well as separate gas from the liquids. Further, the duty of the condensate separator skid is to transfer the condensate to the LP separator and the water/spent H2S scavenger to the suction manifold.
It was decided to carry out the project within the Offshore Consortium Esbjerg (OCE) with Promecon as the main contractor responsible for the building of the separator and ABB as supplier of pumps and instrumentation. Assignments which could not be handled by OCE members were offered to suppliers familiar to Promecon. Among others Ramboll Oil and Gas was engaged as consulting engineers.
The project is a success. Promecon has been the main contractor handling the information flow to the individual partners involved. The project engineers engaged in this project have developed their network and there has been much knowledge sharing.
As one of the first projects within OCE, this project has proven the advantages of the consortium. With joint forces it has been possible to manage a large project with many subcontractors ensuring high quality and involving companies representing their unique key competences which have been necessary for this project. The engineers have profited from each other when it comes to gaining new networks and knowledge which may be useful in their work.
